Google เปิดให้ทดลองใช้งาน Stream บน Chome OS แล้ว โดย spec ขั้นต่ำที่แนะนำคือ Chromebooks ที่ใช้งาน Intel Iris Xe Graphics, CPU Intel Gen 11th Core i5 ขึ้นไป และ RAM ขั้นต่ำ 8GB
Chromebooks รุ่นที่ทาง Google แนะนำ สำหรับการใช้งาน Steam รุ่น Alpha
- Acer Chromebook 514 (CB514-1W)
- Acer Chromebook 515 (CB515-1W)
- Acer Chromebook Spin 713 (CP713-3W)
- ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 (CX5500)
- ASUS Chromebook CX9 (CX9400)
- HP Pro c640 G2 Chromebook
- Lenovo 5i-14 Chromebook
หากต้องการใช้งาน Stream บน ChromeOS คุณอาจจะต้องเปลี่ยนไปใช้ Dev Channel ของ ChromeOS โดยทำตาม คำแนะนำของ Google
1. ใน Chrome browser ให้พิมพ์ chrome://flags#borealis-enabled แล้ว ตั้งค่าเป็น Enabled แล้ว restart
2. หลังจาก restart เปิด terminal ด้วยการกด ctrl+alt+t.
3. พิมพ์ insert_coin volteer-JOlkth573FBLGa แล้ว enter
4. install Steam.
